Puppets
A true WOW moment, the kind that makes guests stop, smile, and believe in magic again.
STILT SHOW by Dragon Knights reveals a world unlike anything you’ve seen before, where knights ride enormous mechanical creatures, half-dragon, half-bird, brought to life through extraordinary stilt artistry and giant-scale puppetry.
These creations are living sculptures, fusing movement, sound, and emotion into a single, breathtaking vision.
The fusion between performer and puppet is so complete that audiences forget where the human ends and the dream begins.
Inspired by myths and traditions from around the world, our work is both multicultural and universal. Each piece is handcrafted and adaptable, designed to meet the creative vision of festivals, theme parks, and special events, offering unforgettable encounters with creatures that walk between fantasy and reality.
Wander, Wonder World Time Off!
Wander, Wonder World – Vol. 1: Time Off! is a large-scale roaming spectacle inspired by the illustrated inventions of Leonardo da Vinci, the adventurous worlds of Jules Verne, and the timeless stories of Enid Blyton.
The story unfolds in a fragile in-between space — the moment between dreaming and waking, where imagination is still alive and gravity feels uncertain.
A state often experienced in childhood, when movement seems lighter, time slows down, and the world has not yet fully settled into rules.
As this delicate balance begins to shift — affected by noise, pollution, climate, and the accelerating rhythm of the surface world — a small group of imagined explorers is sent to understand what is happening and how this realm of imagination might be preserved.
These characters, envisioned like comic-book figures and each gifted with a unique talent, arrive in our world equipped with their engines. In their own realm, bodies float easily through space; here, gravity behaves differently. To adapt, their flying machines touch the ground, rolling instead of floating, while the explorers themselves search for new ways to move, balance, and remain upright.
Actors, dancers, and musicians operate sculptural, wheeled creations — a winged boat, a musical canoe, and a submarine cockpit — inventions designed to navigate this unfamiliar environment.
Escorted by stilt jumper acrobats, they travel through streets and public spaces, experimenting with gravity, learning how to stay grounded while still defying it.
As the journey unfolds, the audience is gently drawn toward a central performance space. The machines become the backdrop for a high-energy finale combining acrobatics, choreographed movement, live music, comedy, and jump rope performed on suspension stilts.
Practiced by only a few hundred athletes worldwide, suspension stilts demand intense, fearless training and exceptional physical control.
Wander, Wonder World is among the rare productions in the United States to integrate this discipline into a large-scale roaming spectacle.
Stilt Performance Repertoire
Stilt walking first emerged centuries ago in several countries as a practical tool. In France, it was used to move through marshy land and observe from a distance. Over time, this functional practice evolved into an expressive performance art.
Today, stilt performance encompasses theatre, dance, comedy, and high-level acrobatics. Through this repertoire, STILT SHOW by Dragon Knights invites audiences to experience this evolution, from traditional roots to contemporary forms.
From wooden stilts to spring and pneumatic systems, these performances explore balance, movement, interpretation, and scale, adapting to a wide range of spaces and events. Each presentation is shaped by the environment, the audience, and the atmosphere, offering a diverse approach to stilt artistry.
